I said it last night in person but it's worth writing down: congratulations once more to my friend Cecil and his beautiful new wife.

[Warded to Mina]

Thank you for coming with me last night, I hope that you had a good time. You were gorgeous, as always (yes, I know, I'm a flatterer, but it is true), while I, on the other hand, looked positively ridiculous in those powder blue robes. After two weddings this winter, I think I've learned a lesson: it's a choice between accepting to be one of the groom's men and wearing clothes that don't make me feel self-conscious or ridiculous.

[Warded to Father]
Do you have copies of that wedding picture of Mum and you? I'd like one, if you do. The numbers of pictures taken at my friend Cecil's wedding last night made me realise that I didn't take any of you with me when I moved out I don't have any of yours.

[Warded to Felicity]
How's the tea shop going? And how's the tea shop's owner? Enjoying being your own boss?

[Warded to Amalie]
How are you? I'm sorry that I didn't make it this weekend, but what do you say to visiting my friend Felicity's tea shop sometime this week to make up for it?

[Warded to Lexi]
Would you mind if we went running on our lunch break instead of in the morning tomorrow? I got a Floo call from a client, one of his thestrals isn't doing well and he didn't want me to come tonight but I'll be heading there first thing tomorrow. My first appointment was at 10:30 so it'd be safer to postpone it as I'm not sure if I'll be back in time. I'm sorry to bother you with this on a Sunday night, but I wanted to warn you about our morning run.

It wasn't an improvement on the kilt, I don't think.

I felt more covered, but more ridiculous. Not sure what's worse, really.

And you're laughing, I can tell.

Never would I make fun of your cold legs or your powder-blue magnificence!

Well, cheetahs aren't my area of expertise, but...

Now you got me thinking of chameleons - I know, I know, I have weird thought patterns. Do you know how it works, how they manage to blend in their environment? It's-
Sorry, turning into boring science again. It'd be neat to be a chameleon, sometime, though, don't you think?

I try to be a chameleon every day, blending in at the shoppe and hoping to Merlin that no stranger talks to me. I suppose it'd be useful to turn different colours as well. You do have weird thought patterns.

Anyone who doesn't see you is either a fool or you have gotten VERY good at this chameleon thing.

Do you really hate it that much? Have you considered finding something of your own, that you like, instead? Singing full-time, maybe?

Oh, I could never do that. It wouldn't pay enough for the upkeep of the flat that I don't really stay in all that much anymo and... it's a little... gauche don't you think? Singing for a living? There's... expectations. I don't know.

It must be so much easier when you love what you're doing, like with you and the animals.

I can't imagine doing anything else. Which is a good thing as, for years during training, I hardly had time to do anything else. But I know what you mean. I got through driving the Knight Bus all these years only because I knew it was temporary.

I don't like knowing that you're unhappy, Mina. And if singing makes you happy, it cannot be gauche. If you don't think it'd be enough for a living, have you considered doing something else than the shop, though? Something that you'd really like? What would you like?

It's never too late to change career, you know. Just think of my friend Felicity, she just opened her own tea shop after years working in her family's store.

I remember that. You driving the Knight Bus, I mean. I used to take it just to see if you happened to be smiling that day; you seemed so down with that job. But it worked out beautifully, did it not? You got exactly what you'd worked so hard for... And you're very good at what you do.

And I'm not so desperately unhappy, really. The job bores me silly, but... It is what it is. I honestly have no idea what else I'd do with myself. Nora always dreamed so long and so hard about Quidditch. I just dream of going home at the end of the workday.

I remember when you got on the bus, it was good to see you. I was so busy those years, between training and working, that I had no social life to call my own, and seeing friends on the bus was the closest to it it got on many weeks.

And thank you. I do my best, and I do like it. As you wrote, it was worth it.

Not all of us are ambitious or know what we want from the start. I wish you could be happy, instead of 'not so desperately unhappy.' Just, keep an open mind in case something comes up that perks your interest, all right? You might not know now, but someday something might work out for you, too.

How did we go from laughing about my powder blue robes to depressing talk? Here's a thought: if your dream is to be home... maybe your calling is to be a housewife?

It's such a sad little ambition though, isn't it? We live in an era where we women can do anything... but honestly, you're right. If I could have anything, I'd want to take care of a home and family first.

I don't know how we got on this topic of conversation! Here, I'll lighten it up a bit with a joke:

What is the best hand to write with?
Neither - it's best to write with a pen!

The nice thing about being able to do anything is that you can choose to do just about anything, including staying home. If everyone was ambitious and a born leader, who would they lead, right?

Ha! Hum, my turn: Chicken is the only animal we eat before it is born and after it is dead.

At any time. I have some here in London, but the majority are at the house. The shoppe will close at six.

I could come by the shoppe after work one night this week, if it works for you? I should be able to be there shortly before six. When would it be best?

Warded to Mr Zeller Paul

You warded to my name!

Of course I don't mind. Do you need anything for when you go to see the client?

Thank you, I'm glad that we can still go running.

And I'll stop by the clinic before heading there, so don't worry for me. Thank you for asking, though.
